Talent Search Terms
Retention of Ownership
- Summit Comics shall exclusively and perpetually retain sole ownership of the original character design provided for this talent search, including all associated artwork, concepts, and intellectual property (IP).
- Summit Comics shall exclusively and perpetually retain sole ownership of all submitted comic scripts, including all story ideas, plot points, character interpretations, and dialogue (collectively, the “Submitted Work”).
- The act of submission constitutes an irrevocable assignment of all rights, title, and interest in and to the Submitted Work to Summit Comics, effective immediately upon receipt by Summit Comics.
Grant of Rights
- You, the submitter, hereby grant Summit Comics the unrestricted, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide, and exclusive right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, display, distribute, and create derivative works from the Submitted Work in any media now known or hereafter devised, for any purpose whatsoever, without further compensation, notice, or permission.
- This includes, but is not limited to, using the Submitted Work in future comic books, graphic novels, promotional materials, merchandising, film, television, or any other adaptation.
Waiver of Moral Rights
- You, the submitter, hereby waive and relinquish any and all so-called “moral rights” (Droit Moral) you may have in the Submitted Work under any applicable law, including the right of attribution and the right to the integrity of the work.
No Obligation to Use
- Submission of a script does not guarantee that Summit Comics will use the Submitted Work, or any part thereof, for any purpose, nor does it guarantee the submitter any compensation, credit, or employment.
Representation and Warranty
- By submitting your script, you represent and warrant that the Submitted Work is entirely original, that it is based only on the character design provided by Summit Comics, and that it does not infringe upon the copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or any other intellectual property rights of any third party.
